"This isn't about me." Really?

Senate Finance ranking member Charles Grassley on Obamacare:

"Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

POTUS Obama on Republican hopes that they can win political points by tanking Obamacare:

"This isn't about me."

Really? It isn't about you Mr. President? Let me show this a different way:

"This isn't about me./You're going to destroy my presidency.

Once again, our POTUS is talking out of both sides of his mouth -- something he seems fond of doing. Why should we trust him with our health?

Flying by the seat of his pants

Those of us who oppose Obamacare, have long known that this legislation is happening way too fast. Of course, the liberals seem to ram through lots of legislation without even reading it. But our POTUS, should know what is in HR 3200, the House health legislation, right? And he should certainly know about section 102 which will make private insurance an endangered species, correct? Well, think again! The Heritage article quotes Obama promising that folks will be able to keep their private insurance and at the same time, admitting that he knows nothing about section 102.

The following article presents the Congressional Budget Office figures that illustrate that Obama's promise to not increase the deficit to pay for health care is bound to be broken.

So which is it Obama -- the facts we have been seeing or the promises you are making? Which is true? Either you are flying by seat of your pants, or you are lying. Or both. I vote for both.

Canadacare/Obamacare -- both may make you sick, perhaps even kill you

Steven Crowder of Pajamas TV recently went under cover in Canada to expose the perils of a single payer health care system. The 21 minute video is quite the eye opener, illustrating the long waits, the frustration and the dangers of socialized medicine.

http://www.pjtv.com/video/Louder_With_Crowder/__PJTV_Undercover%3A_Steven_Crowder_Investigates_CanadaCareWill_ObamaCare_Be_Any_Better%3F/2153/;jsessionid=abcyCUhxtpdjWbtyr5Bks

Steven, who was raised in Canada, is certainly not alone. The Internet is fraught with first hand accounts from people who have experienced the shortfalls of Marxist medicine. Even You Tube is full of videos from folks who warn Americans and beg them not to go down the road to single payer disaster.

Even some of our liberal politicians are starting to balk at the proposed cost of Obamacare to our country. That is why Obama is giving another infomercial on the subject this Wednesday. He has postponed his promised August vote on the matter because he does not have the votes. He bullied the three of the mainstream news networks into providing him with another expensive free platform from which to preach his message. And, preach he will. But as with most of Obama's promises, it is an empty, albeit silver tongued speech.

Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Obama, Pelosi and their radical left minions continue to push this disaster on our country and they are using our media to do it. Despite the dismal failure of socialized medicine virtually everywhere it has been tried, save a few sparsely populated countries, Obama thinks that, if he can spoon feed us his philosophy through prime time TV, we will eventually be indoctrinated to his philosophy.

Don't fall for it! Yes, our president gives a good speech -- he has good speechwriters and a great relationship with his teleprompter. Lots of people can give a good speech. I can write a good speech and I have a degree in English, not medicine or economics.

Do your own research. Listen to those who live the single payer nightmare. Handing our health over to the government, an entity that has not succeeded in running any entitlement successfully, is one of the single biggest mistakes we can make America. We need reform, but we don't need to jump from the frying pan into the fire.

Don't sell your soul to the devil America, just because he makes you pretty promises through a forked tongue!

The thought police are on the prowl

You know how conservative bloggers such as myself have often been looked at like we're a little crazy? You know, we're just a little "out there", seeing government conspiracy and plots to control our every action around every corner? Well, how about the thought police?

That's right. HR 1966 pretty much validates the fact that we government watchdogs are not just a bunch of paranoid tin foil hat types. We are rightly concerned. This has got to be either the single most chilling or moronic piece of legislation I have ever seen.

The Megan Meier Cyber Bullying Prevention Act as it is called seems innocuous enough at first. After all, it is named after the girl who committed suicide after a so-called friend's mom opened a fake account on a social site online and pretended to be a boy who subsequently dumped Megan thus causing her to kill herself.

But read the language. "Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

This is an attempt to kill free speech on the Internet and over the airwaves. It gives anyone who gets their feelings hurt, an open invitation to, in effect, prosecute the would be perpetrator. Break up with your significant other and fire off a nasty email? Write an impassioned post on an Internet forum? Leave a nasty voice mail? Criticize someone on your blog? That's right, you can go to prison for up to two years and pay a fine. At the very least, you will be saddled with onerous legal defense bills. This opens a Pandora's Box of untold proportions and flies in the face of everything that is free speech in America. Think we can't become communist China? Think again!

Wake up America! Where the hell are your priorities? Pay attention to what your legislators are trying to take away from you! Contact your senators and let them know this will not stand!

Health care for all/poverty for a few?

Pelosi and her cronies are at it again. They just can't seem to play fair. They don't have the numbers to pass a health care bill. Some moderate democrats are balking at the cost as well.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20090715/pl_bloomberg/a6fujb5nwlde_1

Never mind that the lack of support will increase yet again, when they tax couples earning $1000,000 a year and those who earn $350,000 as well at a lesser rate. Never mind that this will not cover the estimated 17 million uninsured until 2019 and that half of those are expected to be illegals. Never mind that if this does not produce enough income to fund this ill conceived project, they will tax the rich even more. I think you can see where this is going. It is only a matter of time before Obama's promise to not raise taxes on 95 percent of households will be shattered like plate glass in a hurricane.

The democrats plan to ram it through anyway, using a process that allows the ruling party to ignore the lesser one and pass the legislation with no support from the other side! What happened to check and balances?
